Vice President: RACHEL LUSSOS

Rachael Graham Lussos is a professional writer with seven years of experience writing and editing policy documents, strategic plans, technology reports, contract proposals, and communication materials for commercial, nonprofit, and government clients, including DoD, DHS, and NASA. She has an MFA in Creative Writing and a graduate certificate in Professional Writing & Rhetoric and is currently pursuing a PhD in Writing & Rhetoric. She is the founding President of GMU STC.

Biography/Position Details: 

Treasurer: Madeline Graham

Madeline Graham is a rising senior at George Mason University pursuing her BA in English with a concentration in Writing and Rhetoric. She is also a tutor at George Mason’s Writing Center, where she coaches undergraduate and graduate students of all disciplines and at any stage of the writing process. Madeline is also a writing intern for The Tauri Group, a consulting firm for whom she edits and writes documents as well as conducts research. Eventually, Madeline hopes to apply her degree and tutoring experience to the coaching of other professional writers in technical fields.

Abigail Casas is a George Mason University Alumni with a B.A. in English, a concentration in Writing and Rhetoric, and a Minor in Business. Student Organization Advisor: HEIDI LAWRENCE

Heidi Lawrence is an Assistant Professor in George Mason University’s Department of English. I teach courses in rhetoric, professional communication, and medical and science rhetorics, and I research rhetorics of medical controversy. I also have significant professional experience as a technical editor, professional writer, and proposal writer and manager. In my capacity as faculty advisor, I encourage students to use STC to build professional networks within and outside of GMU as a part of their continued growth as communicators in industry, nonprofit, and academic workplaces.
